Liverpool’s AI ambitions are real — and Pxl-Persona and Scenegraph Studios are at the heart of them. As part of the region’s “AI for Good” initiative, the Liverpool City Region AI Summit brought together innovators, educators, and leaders to explore AI’s real-world potential. Here’s our recap — plus a look ahead to the 2025 event.
Liverpool City Region AI Summit 2024
On 21 November 2024, over 300 delegates joined the inaugural summit at Boxpark Brewery Village. The summit celebrated local pioneers like the STFC Hartree Centre and launched Liverpool’s ambition as a global hub of responsible AI.
Speakers ranged from IBM UK’s Nicola Hodson and representatives from Microsoft, to Mayor Steve Rotheram and public service innovators
In this context, Dr David Tully (Founder of Scenegraph Studios and Pxl-Persona) took the stage to champion how AI can empower everyday people — not replace them — and called for clear safety measures and ethical deployment in AI systems.
At the same event, Pxl-Persona's technology was formally introduced to the region: showcasing interactive avatars for interview practice, education, and visitor engagement.

Looking Ahead: AI Summit 2025
The 2025 edition will be held on 23 October at ACC Liverpool, with a renewed focus on elevating Liverpool’s leadership in ethical AI.
